A new tool to assess water security can help nations plan for a challenging future.

Between 2010 and 2019, average annual global greenhouse gas emissions were at their highest levels in human history, but the rate of growth has slowed. Without immediate and deep emissions reductions across all sectors, limiting global warming to 1.5°C is beyond reach. A new study looks at tropical deforestation and the key factors driving it.

World Water Day, held annually on 22 March, celebrates water and raises awareness of the 2 billion people living without access to safe water. A core focus of World Water Day is to inspire action towards Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6: water and sanitation for all by 2030.
