Through the 50th anniversary of the institute, IIASA also celebrates opportunities to build capacity in systems analysis worldwide. In March, IIASA will host a virtual workshop in collaboration with the Royal Scientific Society of Jordan on using systems analysis to tackle global challenges. 

IIASA Regional Conference "Systems Analysis in Asia" will take place on 20-22 October 2021 as a hybrid event, combining online and in person attendance. Dr. Nadejda Komendantova from Cooperation and Transformative Governance (CAT) group is invited to speak at the workshop “Vulnerability of the electrical grid and interdependent critical infrastructures to extraordinary disruptive events” organized by the Department of Electrical Engineering of the Uppsala University. Her talk titled “Multi-risk governance and resilience of electricity transmission grids” includes the discussion of the need of a multi-risk governance framework which goes across such phases as risk mitigation and observation, risk assessment and management as well as risk communication.
