Halting, then reversing the ongoing loss of Earth’s plant and animal diversity requires far more than an expanded global system of protected areas of land and seas, scientists warn. What is needed, is successful, coordinated action across a diverse, interconnected set of transformative changes, including massive reductions in harmful agricultural and fishing subsidies, deep reductions in overconsumption, and holding climate change to 1.5°C.

The LIMITS Scenario database, operated by IIASA for the LIMITS consortium, hosts the results of the LIMITS modeling comparison exercise. The LIMITS project aims at advancing the understanding of the implementation of climate policies consistent with 2 degree Celsius. The main objective of the project is to provide an assessment of the emissions reductions strategies at the level of the world and the major global economies.

IIASA Regional Conference "Systems Analysis in Asia" will take place on 20-22 October 2021 as a hybrid event, combining online and in person attendance. The physical part of the meeting will be hosted by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) at the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research (IGSNRR) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing, China.
The Global Energy Assessment (GEA) Scenario database documents results and assumptions of the GEA energy transformation pathways that underpin the GEA. The database serves as a central data repository for the dissemination of GEA scenario information.
The AMPERE database, operated by IIASA for the AMPERE consortium, hosts the model results for work packages 2, 3, and 5, as well as the results from the model diagnostics project. AMPERE scenario data were used in a series of research papers, which were published in a special issue of Technological Forecasting and Social Change as well as other journals. In addition, the results were used in the 5th Assessment Report of Working Group III of the IPCC.
