Using updated methodologies and data since the release of the Sixth Assessment Report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), new work by IIASA researchers and colleagues estimates that the remaining carbon budget to limit warming to the targets of the Paris Agreement is substantially lower than previously anticipated.
