The Earth Observation for Official Statistics and policy indicators reporting (StatEO26) Conference will focuses on integrating Earth Observation (EO) into national statistics and policy reporting to improve the accuracy, timeliness, and spatial detail of key indicators, including those used in natural capital assessments, agricultural monitoring, and GHG emission reporting, supporting policy implementation and simplified transversal reporting.
Co-organised with DG ESTAT, DG JRC, DG DEFIS, DG ENV, EARSC, EEA, OECD, UNSD, FAO, UNECE, UNEP WCMC, University of Hannover, and Biodiversity Alliance & CIAT, StatEO25 is a free conference open to the interdisciplinary community working on official statistics and related fields.
The StatEO26 programme will feature thematic oral sessions on Agriculture Statistics; Natural Capital Accounting; Integration of EO into SDGs and environmental Policy Reporting; Land Use / Land Cover (LULC); People & Urban Areas; Economy and Infrastructure; and Sustainability indicators, as well as workshops covering User Needs, Experiences, and Challenges; Integration of In-Situ and EO Data; Standardization and quality of EO in Statistical Processes; Trust of EO data and uncertainty; Accessibility, Data Infrastructure, and Interoperability (including Copernicus Services); Capacity Building; and Future Steps Toward Operational Integration of EO.
The NODES team of IIASA will actively contribute to the event, presenting several projects in which they are involved.
