This participation includes eminent speakers from the IIASA network as well as a policy simulation that explores international negotiations through an immersive role-play experience highlighting the roles of science advice.

Energy Demand changes Induced by Technological and Social innovations (EDITS) side-event at COP26 as part of the Japan Pavilion.
The event presented the frontiers in energy and material demand knowledge, the role of digitalization, innovation and equity efforts in a deep social, economic and technological transformation of energy demand. We presented recent work from the EDITS network, and discussed how a demand-side transition can contribute to rapid and successful climate change mitigation towards a 1.5°C pathway.

The Forum on Scenarios for Climate and Societal Futures is a hybrid online and in-person forum bringing together a diverse set of communities who are using or developing scenarios for use in climate change and sustainability analysis to exchange experiences, ideas, and lessons learned. Opportunities for synergies and collaboration will be identified as well as knowledge gaps for future research.
