IIASA to host second annual meeting of the EU-funded UNDERPIN project

As climate impacts intensify across Europe, the need to measure whether adaptation efforts are actually working has never been greater. Too often, monitoring focuses on strategies and procedures rather than tangible results — such as reduced risks, stronger resilience, and healthier communities.

UNDERPIN addresses this gap in monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) for climate adaptation. The project is designing, developing, and validating an outcome-oriented framework that builds on and enhances existing approaches to assessing climate resilience. This framework will include operationalized process and outcome indicators to track adaptation progress at local, regional, and national levels.

Over the two-day meeting, partners from nine European institutions will review progress across the project's work packages and set strategic priorities for the year ahead.
