IIASA researchers will contribute to the 26th Austrian Climate Day taking place in Vienna from 8 to 10 April 2026. Organized by the Climate Change Centre Austria (CCCA), the event brings together researchers, policymakers, and practitioners to exchange knowledge and foster collaboration. This year's theme, Building bridges: from knowledge to transformation, focuses on strengthening links between science, policy, and implementation.
The Austrian Climate Day is a key interdisciplinary platform for presenting and discussing climate research in Austria. It promotes exchange between science, policy, administration, and funding bodies, as well as engagement with practitioners and the broader public. The program includes keynotes and panel discussions, thematic scientific sessions, poster sessions and discussions, networking events and receptions, workshops, including formats for early-career researchers, and dialogue formats connecting research with policy and practice.
Apart from the fact that IIASA senior research scholar, Daniel Huppmann, currently serves as Chair of the CCCA, IIASA researchers are actively involved in this year’s program:
- Roman Hoffmann will present research on trade-offs in public support for climate action, examining how environmental and economic shocks shape societal responses to climate policies.
- Caroline Zimm will contribute as a session moderator, supporting discussions on innovative approaches to climate action and transformation.
- Chayasmita Deka, Reza Yeganegi, and Nadejda Komendantova will present the outcomes of a project exploring pathways to transition to child-friendly urban environments.
