Biography
Chayasmita Deka is a researcher in the Cooperation and Transformative Governance Research Group of the IIASA Advancing Systems Analysis Program and a PhD research scholar in economics at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG), India. She participated in the IIASA Young Scientist Summer Program (YSSP) from June to August 2022. Previously, she was also associated with the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB), India, as an academic intern. She is an economist by training with a Master’s in applied economics (specialization in development), from Christ University Bangalore, India, and a Bachelor’s in economics from the University of Delhi, India.Her research focuses on diverse areas within behavioral economics, particularly in the context of addressing climate change through behavioral adaptation strategies. Her expertise extends to structural equation modeling, cooperation and negotiation for natural resources management, experiments using nudges, gamification, serious games, analysis of phase transition in behavior, etc. Currently, she is working on the Horizon Europe MEDiate project, and the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) Climate Research Programme (ACRP) project Hop&Mop4 +CitySpace.
