Research Project
ENGAGE is a global consortium of international and multidisciplinary leading research groups, that is coordinated by IIASA, aims to co-produce knowledge for designing cost-effective, technologically sound, socially and politically feasible pathways that can meet the objectives of the Paris Agreement. ENGAGE will also quantify avoided climate change impacts at the regional and national levels and identify concrete policy portfolios that maximize co-benefits and minimize trade-offs.

Research Project
The EU-funded GENIE project will explore the environmental, technical, social, legal, ethical and policy dimensions of greenhouse gas removal and solar radiation management. GENIE aims to produce a comprehensive scientific assessment for evidence-based policymaking to address climate change, and to expand our toolkit for a zero-emissions future.
Research Project
Climate change and population growth will challenge water security in Israel. Adapting to future water security challenges requires policymakers to act today. The Water Futures and Solutions for Israel project (WFaS-Israel) aims to assess water scarcity in Israel under different plausible future scenarios. Each scenario combines different climatic trajectories with diverse socio-economic and spatial planning storylines.
Research Project
The EDITS network brings together experts of various disciplines to regularly discuss about and engage in the multi-faceted energy demand research. The EDITS community works together based on common interest in interlinked topics, on transferring methodological knowledge, and on exploring modeling innovations across demand-side models.
Research Project
This Belmont Forum Pathways Project supports the localization of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda through the development and testing of innovative policy tools, in order to engage local and regional actors from Africa in the design and implementation of required sustainability transformations.
Research Project
DECIPHER (DECIsion-making framework and Processes for Holistic Evaluation of enviRonmental and climate policies) is an EU Commission funded project that aims to embed risk, opportunity, resilience and feasibility dimensions into the economic methods that support decision-making in order to increase the effectiveness, efficiency, and legitimacy of climate and environmental policies.
Research Project
To avoid climate risk, a state may resettle an entire community to another location within the country. This is known as planned relocation (PR), a government-led strategy undertaken to guard against the impacts of climate change. PR in Europe remains largely framed as an ad hoc response in post-disaster settings. But this could change with the increased risks of natural disasters. The EU-funded ITHACA project will investigate how current PR and climate adaptation policy and governance landscapes should integrate PR into long-term resilient development in Europe.
Research Project
MICAT aims to develop a comprehensive approach to estimate Multiple Impacts of Energy Efficiency (MI-EE) by co-creating a free, easy-to-use, scientifically sound online tool (MICATool). The MICATool will enable holistic analyses of MI-EE at the European, national and local level to strengthen the climate strategy of the Energy Union and accelerate an affordable and just, sustainable energy transition by addressing the challenges and needs of important target groups: policy makers, practitioners and evaluators.
