Climate Change in Austria: Challenges, solutions and opportunities (Klimawandel in Österreich - Herausforderungen, Lösungen und Chancen)
The findings of the Second Climate Assessment Report—the most comprehensive scientific work on climate change in Austria—have now been released. Its core conclusions serve as an alarming wake-up call, revealing the full scale of the issue. The impacts of climate change can no longer be overlooked. More than 200 researchers from over 50 institutions contributed to the report's detailed analyses. Furthermore, they propose concrete mitigation measures, which will be the focus of Keywan Riahi's presentation in this Vienna Lecture. One thing is certain: "Decisive action is imperative."
The event will be held in German.
Keywan Riahi has been affiliated with the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) since 1997 and has served as the Director of its Energy Program since 2008. He also holds a teaching appointment in Energy Systems Analysis at the Graz University of Technology.
