The EuroGEO Workshop 2025 (13–15 October, The Hague) will unite Europe’s Earth Observation community under the theme “Combine, Coordinate, Cooperate – Advancing Collective Earth Intelligence.” Steffen Fritz will be presenting research from the Novel Data Ecosystems for Sustainability (NODES) research group and insights from the OEMC and ENFORCE projects.

EuroGEO serves as Europe’s regional coordination mechanism within the global Group on Earth Observations (GEO), uniting initiatives, projects, and organizations that harness Earth observation data to address pressing environmental and societal challenges.

The EuroGEO Workshop 2025, taking place in The Hague, Netherlands (13–15 October), will gather the European Earth Observation community under the theme “Combine, Coordinate, Cooperate – Advancing Collective Earth Intelligence.” The event will foster collaboration, dialogue, and shared action under the banner #OneEuroGEO – One Voice, through facilitated discussions, panel exchanges, and peer-to-peer interactions. The Workshop aims to accelerate the delivery of Earth Intelligence by strengthening Europe’s contributions to the GEO Work Programme, reinforcing the links to Copernicus, and aligning research, innovation, and national coordination with global and European priorities.

Steffen Fritz will attend the workshop to liaise with GEO partners and present the latest NODES research contributing to EuroGEOSS. He will also deliver a presentation in the Land Cover session titled “Collecting In-Situ Training and Validation Data with Experts and Citizens for Land Cover, Land Use, and Environmental Crimes,” and will feature insights from the Open Earth Monitor Cyberinfrastructure (OEMC) and ENFORCE projects.
