Senior Research Scholar Dilek Fraisl from the Novel Data Ecosystems for Sustainability Research Group will attend the Expert Group Meeting (EGM) and Workshops on Citizen Data in Bangkok, Thailand.

From 10 – 12 November 2025, the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, in collaboration with the Collaborative on Citizen Data and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP), will host the Expert Group Meeting (EGM) and Workshops on Citizen Data in Bangkok.

The three-day event will bring together experts, practitioners, and policymakers to strengthen the role of citizen-generated data in advancing national development priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The programme includes:

  • International Workshop (10 November): This session will share experiences, best practices and ways to strengthen citizen data for policymaking. Participants will exchange ideas, build networks, and explore how citizen data can inform policies and advance national priorities and the SDGs.
  • Impact Stories Workshop (10 November): A hands-on session helping citizen data producers craft compelling, evidence-based narratives and impact briefs with feedback from peers and experts.
  • 4th Expert Group Meeting (11–12 November): A review of progress under the Copenhagen Framework on Citizen Data, discussions on upcoming priorities, and consultations on new tools and guidance for improving data quality and citizen engagement.
