In an era of information overload and rapidly evolving media landscapes, science journalism plays a crucial role in helping audiences understand complex global challenges. IIASA is pleased to join ISTA and the Complexity Science Hub for a panel discussion exploring how journalists and communicators can uphold accuracy, context, and trust in science reporting.
Representing IIASA, Journalist-in-Residence and Senior Research Scholar in Science Communication Lisa Palmer will share insights from more than two decades of reporting on climate change, sustainability, food security, and society. Together with fellow journalists in residence from ISTA and the Complexity Science Hub, the discussion will examine how science journalism is adapting to a fast-moving communication environment and why thoughtful, evidence-based storytelling matters more than ever.
The panel will feature practical reflections from the field, drawing on experiences covering science and technology for international audiences. The event will conclude with an interactive Q&A session and networking reception.
