After the summer break, the CLIMAAX Community of Practice is back with a new webinar series! This autumn, our sessions will focus on supporting the practical implementation of the CLIMAAX Framework and Toolbox, starting with the updated Step 4: Key Risk Assessment. This step guides users in both interpreting and prioritizing the results of climate risk assessment workflows.

SYRR researchers, Michaela Bachmann and Reinhard Mechler, in collaboration with CMCC, will host this webinar, where participants will be introduced to key concepts such as severity, urgency, and adaptive capacity, as well as the Risk Evaluation Dashboard. A real-world case study from Riga, Latvia, will demonstrate how this approach is applied in practice. Participants will also engage in a hands-on group exercise, offering the chance to explore the Dashboard in action. As a critical component of the Framework, Step 4 bridges the gap between risk analysis and decision-making. This session is especially relevant for regions in the final stages of their assessments and will set the stage for upcoming hazard-specific webinars, such as those focusing on floods and heatwaves.
