It is our pleasure to announce our upcoming multidisciplinary art/sci symposium taking place on Thursday, 12 December 2024 at IIASA. The event will explore new ways of unleashing the debate around Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and will include the opening of a related art exhibition.

This event is part of The Carbon Busters project by the art association Flechtwerk in dialogue with scientists and the industry, including researchers from IIASA, which explores CCS through artistic research. The project is funded by the Federal Government of Lower Austria (K1 and K3) and the Weitblick GmbH. 

Symposium:

The symposium will feature invited scientists and artists from various Austrian institutes discussing new ways to approach the CCS debate. We invite all interested persons to join either in person (please contact Dominika Glogowski to check availability due to limited seating) or online (Zoom).

Exhibition Opening

  • Exhibition Duration: 12 December 2024 – 24 January 2025

IIASA Energy, Climate, and Environment Program Director, Keywan Riahi, will officially open the exhibition at 17:30. The vernissage is open to all IIASA staff and external guests, while the exhibition will remain open exclusively to IIASA staff until 24 January 2025.
