IIASA will contribute to the upcoming 12th Joint Session of the EMEP Steering Body and the Working Group on Effects in Geneva in its role as host of the Centre for Integrated Assessment Modelling (CIAM).
This joint session gathers national focal points and experts across member states to address critical air pollution monitoring, evaluation, and environmental impact assessments. Representing the Centre for Integrated Assessment Modelling (CIAM), Zbigniew Klimont, Leader of the Pollution Management Research Group, and Gregor Kiesewetter will report directly on the Centre's activities alongside the Task Force on Integrated Assessment Modelling (TFIAM). Using CIAM's primary tool—the GAINS model—they will present key modeling insights, scenario runs, ex-post analyses, cost-benefit analyses, and optimization results to provide the scientific evidence needed for delegates to coordinate actions on revising the Gothenburg Protocol.
