The SISC 2026 Conference – Building Resilience to Current and Forthcoming Climate Risks brings together leading scientists, researchers, economists, practitioners, business leaders, and policymakers to exchange knowledge and discuss approaches to addressing the impacts of climate change and strengthening resilience.
The conference will take place in Bolzano, Italy, providing an interdisciplinary platform to share research findings, foster collaboration, and explore practical solutions to current and future climate risks.
Stefan Hochrainer-Stigler will participate in the conference as a speaker, presenting “Dynamics of Community Resilience: A Global Empirical Study Using a Standardized Assessment Framework.” His presentation will highlight recent advances in understanding dynamic resilience pathways, drawing on large-scale empirical data and a standardized assessment framework.
Stefan's participation will also provide an opportunity to strengthen collaboration with international research partners, advance discussions on two research proposals planned for the coming year, and further develop ongoing collaboration with EURAC on a joint research paper intended for publication in a high-impact scientific journal.
These activities contribute to IIASA's ambition to strengthen its role as a hub for systems analysis and advance international research collaborations addressing complex climate challenges.
