Elena Rovenskaya speaks at the high-level Government After Shock Global Forum to help inform a global dialogue on systemic change needed beyond COVID-19 crisis.

The COVID-19 pandemic has shaken our understanding of the world and how things should work. The aftershocks of it will undoubtedly ripple through all domains, whether personal, economic, social or political.
Coordinated by the OECD’s Observatory of Public Sector Innovation and with the support of the European Commission through its Horizon 2020 Programme, Government After Shock Global Forum will build upon learning from diverse experiences and bringing them together to help identify and consider the implications for governments and those involved in public purpose work. Among speakers of the Forum are Secretary General of the Organisation of Economic Cooperation and Development Ángel Gurría, President of the Republic of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaid, Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabić, and Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia Arturs Krišjānis Kariņš.
Elena Rovenskaya, Program Director of Advanced Systems Analysis Program and Acting Program Director of Evolution and Ecology Program, will contribute to the session on “INNOVATOR INSIGHTS: Charting a way out of complexity: Portfolios, Systems and Anticipation”. This session will explore how the crisis has demonstrated an undeniable business case for approaches that can embrace complexity, intersectionality and uncertainty in a world that grows more complex each day. Elena Rovenskaya will be joined by representatives of OECD, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, and European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). She will share some of the relevant insights from IIASA-ISC Consultative Science Platform "Bouncing Forward Sustainably: Pathways to a post-COVID World".
