The conference will be co-hosted by the Mexican Agency of International Cooperation for Development (AMEXCID) of the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs
of Mexico and the Science Technology in Society forum (STS forum), with the support of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and the Embassy of Japan in Mexico.

The STS forum aims to provide a mechanism for open discussions on an informal basis, an to build a human network that may, in time, resolve the new types of problems stemming from the application of science and technology. The forum community also explores the opportunities arising from science and technology, and addresses how to remove the barriers to using science and technology to solve the problems facing humankind.

Dr. Srivastava will sit on the first thematic panel of the conference entitled “Science and Technology Diplomacy and International Collaboration" as well as participate further in the key discussions of the day's proceedings.

The visit to Mexico will be concluded with bilateral meetings with a number of other high-level IIASA collaborators and partners in Mexico City. Iain Stewart, Head of IIASA Communications and External Relations Department will accompany Srivastava on the visit.
