
Wiedner High School is hosting this year's GALESS conference on 'Empty Pockets.' Over 20 participants from Uganda, Thailand, and the US will spend a day at IIASA, where they will join our researchers in discussing topics related to climate justice and the fair sharing of responsibility.
The Global Alliance of Leading Edge Schools for Sustainability (GALESS) is organized as a network of leading schools worldwide, collaborating to promote sustainability. It operates through regional conferences and projects, with member schools contributing to research and innovation. Member schools are located all over the world, e.g. in Spain, Germany, Poland, Austria, USA, South Africa, Brazil, Thailand, Singapore and Australia.
GALESS focuses on preparing youth to address global challenges through innovation and scientific research. Their goals include promoting sustainability, combating poverty, and enhancing community health by fostering cross-cultural collaboration and developing solutions for environmental and social issues.
