This high-resolution electrification dataset for Sub-Saharan Africa is developed at the Energy Program of the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) in cooperation with the Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei (FEEM).

The online interface allows browsing the (estimated) population without electricity access between 2014 and 2020, as well as the predicted electrification rates at the province-level and the estimated tiers of electricity access quality for those with access to electricity. The interface is developed with Google Earth Engine, and embeds the familiar features of Google Maps including switching from map to satellite view and looking for cities and places.
