The SYRR (ASA) group of IIASA will participate at the Annual Conference of the Society for Risk Analysis Europe Advancing Risk Science for a Safer and Fairer Future.
The conference highlights the urgent need to address risk in ways that promote both safety and justice—particularly for vulnerable populations that disproportionately bear the impacts of emerging threats. The Systemic Risk and Resilience (SYRR) Research Group at IIASA will contribute to the conference with presentations on systemic risk, polycrisis and social tipping points.
Reinhard Mechler will provide a presentation on:“Generating Positive Externalities in the Polycrisis: Effectively Addressing Disaster and Climate Risks for Generating Multiple Resilience Dividends.”
Stefan Hochrainer-Stigler will provide a presentation on:“Enhancing Interoperability for Managing Climate Risks: A Gap Approach Using Systemic Risk Ideas.”
