In partnership with our regional member, the Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Member Organization (SSARMO), IIASA will co-host two sessions during the Sustainability Research and Innovation Congress 2025 (SRI2025) Africa Satellite Event, and has been invited to contribute to a pre-conference workshop by delivering a half-day training session on systems analysis.
As a direct follow up to last year's African Science Granting Councils Initiative (SGCI) Annual Meeting, these engagements at the SRI2025 Africa Satellite Event represent a strategic opportunity to deepen collaboration with key regional partners, including the National Research Fund (NRF) Kenya and the National Research Foundation (NRF) South Africa. Additionally, a bilateral meeting with the CEO of NRF Kenya is planned to further strengthen institutional ties and explore future cooperation.

About SRI:
The Africa Satellite Event will provide an opportunity to engage on African sustainability issues, opportunities, and solutions. It will offer a platform for engagement and collaboration, creating opportunities for early-career researchers, established researchers, research managers, policymakers, and industry experts to share their ideas, relevant knowledge, and information. This will help strengthen the next generation of researchers in Africa.
