IIASA researchers will participate in a panel discussion with European Commission Vice-President Dubravka Šuica in a webstreamed event organized by the European Commission-Joint Research Centre (JRC) in Ispra, Italy.

Anne Goujon, Population and Just Societies (POPJUS) Program Director and Raya Muttarak, Principal Research Scholar in the Migration and Sustainable Development Research Group (MIG) at IIASA are invited to attend a panel discussion with demography experts on "Integrating demographic insights into climate policymaking, and beyond" to discuss climate change, its impact on human wellbeing and effective environment policies.

The discussion centres around a new Science for Policy report "Demography and climate change - EU in the global context", by the Joint Research Centre (JRC). The report explores the connections between demography and climate change, and the need to integrate demographic insights into policymaking.

The event will be webstreamed at the following link: https://webcast.ec.europa.eu/visit-of-cssr-suica-2023-06-05
