The SEP is pleased to call for papers to our Special Issue on “Socioeconomic futures frameworks for motivating actions for sustainability” in the journal Futures.

We are soliciting scholarly contributions that articulate constructive ideas and improvements, moving beyond mere critique to offer robust structural paradigms (or components of paradigms) for scenario development through 2035. See the full Call for Papers: https://www.sciencedirect.com/special-issue/332965/socioeconomic-futures-frameworks-for-motivating-actions-for-sustainability

The Special Issue very much invites diverse contributions. Prospective contributors should note that the target deadline for initial submission of full, review-ready drafts is January 3, 2027. If you have an idea for a manuscript and would like help finding co-authors, please email Vanessa Schweizer ([email protected]).

To facilitate the development and refinement of these manuscripts, a workshop will be convened at the International Environmental Modelling & Software Society (iEMSs) meeting this July. This venue will provide a collaborative environment for preliminary engagement with research aligned with the special issue's thematic objectives.
