BIOSPACE25 is the first international conference exclusively dedicated to the application of Satellite Remote Sensing (SRS) across the various dimensions of biodiversity, and addressing the use of Earth Observations in all realms, from terrestrial, freshwater, coastal to marine ecosystems.

The BIOSPACE25 conference focuses on presenting advanced SRS methodologies and technologies for biodiversity, examining their application across biodiversity domains, and identifying key challenges in utilizing Earth Observations (EO) for biodiversity research and monitoring. The goal is to emphasize the importance of collaboration in integrating SRS technology into biodiversity research, monitoring, and policy development, while offering cost-effective EO solutions to support countries in implementing effective National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs).

The NODES group will be represented at the conference in the context of its research activities on World Ecosystem Extent Dynamics (WEED) project. The project aims to develop and showcase a versatile and globally applicable innovative toolkit that utilizes Earth Observation data to map and monitor their changes in extent for terrestrial, freshwater, and coastal (up to the intertidal zones) ecosystems. Ian McCallum and Steffen Fritz will be taking part.

The deadline for abstracts and workshop proposal submissions is 03 November 2024. Visit the official website from here.
