Join us for an engaging Coffee Chat Series "5 to 12" by the Horizon Europe Community Austria, organized by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG). This event brings together experts, including IIASA researcher, Lisa Thalheimer, who will share her insights on "Compound events as amplifiers of climate risks".
Compound events - a combination of several factors and/or hazards - can significantly increase climate risks and make the consequences unpredictable. Their impact is often greater than the sum of the individual events. In her input, Lisa Thalheimer from the Migration and Sustainable Development Research Group (MIG) will explain why the identification of such compound events and forward-looking preparation are essential for robust risk management.
