IIASA is hosting the 54th meeting of the Task Force on Integrated Assessment Modelling (TFIAM) under the LRTAP Convention.

Since 1999 IIASA has been hosting the Centre for Integrated Assessment Modelling (CIAM), one of the four centres assigned for the European Monitoring and Evaluation Programme (EMEP) of the Convention on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution.  CIAM prepares technical background material for the annual meetings of the Task Force on Integrated Assessment Modelling (TFIAM).

The Task Force’s main focus is to combine information gathered from the Parties and from other Convention bodies and through computer models assist in the development of legal instruments (protocols). During the next two years, TFIAM is requested to support the Gothenburg protocol revision process with inter alia scenario development and analysis, knowledge on methane, black carbon and ammonia emission reduction potential and effects, as well as scenarios targeted at health improvement (especially for ozone), and at biodiversity protection.
