Explore opportunities to become a YSSP student in our BNR research group. While each YSSP selects a main Research Group, BNR encourages YSSP research engaged in cross-group collaboration.
Become a YSSP in AFE – Agriculture, Forestry, and Ecosystem Services
The AFE Group generates knowledge and develops state-of-the-art modeling tools to advance the scientific community and support policies that enable better understanding and management of global and regional agriculture, forestry, and natural land ecosystems.
More info: AFE Group at IIASA
Become a YSSP in BEC – Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services
The BEC Group develops and applies state-of-the-art ecological knowledge, methods, and tools to understand ecosystem functioning, biodiversity change, and feedbacks in coupled social–economic–ecological systems. This knowledge is used to develop management options that help achieve biodiversity and sustainability goals.

Become a YSSP in IBF – Integrated Biosphere Futures
The IBF Group focuses on the integrated modeling of natural resources and ecosystem management using IIASA models such as the Global Biosphere Management Model (GLOBIOM). Research aims to guide transformations in food and bio-based sectors that satisfy human needs while ensuring the sustainable use of terrestrial and marine environments.
