This official overseas visit aims to explore Austria's successful forest bio-economy policies and projects, and to develop customized strategies for domestic application to enhance the utilization and technological capacity of both timber and non-timber forest products.
IIASA is pleased to welcome a delegation from the National Institute of Forest Science (NIFoS), Republic of Korea, for a collaborative exchange focused on Austria's successful forest bio-economy policies and projects, investigating the current status of policies, research, and projects aimed at revitalizing the production and consumption of forest products within regional forest-based hubs.
The visit will include an introduction to IIASA, Agriculture, Forestry, and Ecosystems (AFE) Group, highlighting its integrated modelling work at the intersection of forestry, agriculture, and climate systems.
