Systemic Risks and Robust Solutions

ASA has been researching how systems, with their multiple complex interlinkages and interdependencies, can suffer "cascading failures," how to maintain or improve system robustness levels, and the management of systemic risk

ASA's research into systemic risks and robust solutions was conducted within two research groups, one on drivers of extreme events to understand the development of cascading failures in complex networks; the other o coping with risk management.

Detailed information on these aspects of ASA research can be found by clicking on any of the items below. See the right-hand box for more information on the Advanced Systems Analysis Program 2012.

Drivers of Extreme Events

This study aims to understand the development of cascading failures in complex networks.  More

Risk Management

ASA continued to develop its research on coping with uncertainties and updated a global model for carbon reduction trading under risk More
