Nadejda Komendantova is invited to speak at the session on Mitigating Trans-Border Environmental Risks and Challenges of the 2020 OSCE Asian Conference on Multilateral Responses to the Global Security Challenges.  The conference is co-organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). The main topic of the conference is “Multilateral responses to the global security challenges”.

The aim of the conference is to promote the principles of dialogue and cooperation among OSCE partners in the face of the current crisis of multilateralism and to support action on specifically selected topics of mutual interest in all three dimensions of security: the politico-military, the economic and environmental, and the human. 

The opening statements of the conference are provided by H.E. Amb. Taeho Lee, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Korea; H.E. Amb. Ingrid Brockova, State Secretary,  Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic; H.E. Agron Tare, Deputy Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Republic of Albania; and H.E. Amb. Tuula Yrjölä, OSCE Officer-in-Charge/Secretary General, Director of the OSCE Conflict Prevention Centre and Deputy Head of the OSCE Secretariat.

The talk of Nadejda Komendantova is focused on the interdisciplinary approach to governance and decision-making processes under uncertainty, complexity, ambiguity and volatility and addressing these challenges by incorporating systems thinking into strategic policy planning, while also tackling social dilemmas and wicked policy issues.
