Air Pollution in China

Indian cities rank high in air pollution at the global scale. Collaborative studies using the GAINS model reveal innovative insights into the current sources of pollution that threaten the health of Indian citizens, and identify solutions that reinforce the development agenda.

Effective improvements of air quality in Indian cities require collaboration with neighboring States and must involve sources that are less relevant in industrialized countries. However, many of the policy interventions will have multiple co-benefits on development targets.
