Dmitry Shchepashchenko was a participant of IIASA's Young Scientists Summer Program in 1995. He returned to the Institute in November 2007 as a Research Scholar to work with the Forestry Program, now Ecosystems Services and Management (ESM) Program. His recent projects have included a full carbon account of Northern Eurasia, Global forest/biomass/land cover mapping, remote sensing application.
Dr. Shchepashchenko graduated in forestry with a specialization in soil science from Moscow State Forest University (MSFU). He received a PhD degree in soil science in 1993 from Dokuchaev Soil Science Institute in Moscow and he was awarded a university professor degree in ecology in 2005 from MSFU. Currently he holds the position of Professor at MSFU, Department of Pedology. Dr. Shchepashchenko is a member of the Academic Council of MSFU.
