Nadejda Komendantova is invited to speak about gender equality, including gender roles and stereotypes, as well as the possibilities for the involvement of women into decision-making processes in the frame of participatory governance at the virtual workshop on  "Voices of women during the COVID-19 situation". The workshop is co-organized by the University of Central Asia, Gradual School of Development, Civil Society Initiative and the Aga Khan Foundation.

The goal of the workshop is to discuss gender equity and how gender is being addressed across various sectors (e.g., energy, infrastructure) like legal framework, and what does it mean to have a gender-sensitive budget etc. Participants are provided with a deep dive into the main notions and terms and are given practical examples. The talk of Nadejda Komendantova includes examples of measures foreseen by the Strategy of Industrial Development in Kyrgyzstan on socio-economic development with a special focus on various points of growth in the regions and strengthening economic opportunities for women.
