Wolfgang Lutz, who will assume his tenure as IIASA Acting Director General on 1 November, will participate in the Working Group Meeting of the Federation of Austrian Industries, focusing on the competitiveness of the Lower Austrian industry sector.

The Federation of Austrian Industries is a network of voluntary actors representing the interests of Austrian industry. Currently, it has more than 4,500 members from the manufacturing sector, and credit and insurance, infrastructure, and industry-oriented services in Austria and Europe. The Federation’s members represent more than 80% of Austrian manufacturing companies.

The Federation's Working Group, focusing on the competitiveness of the Lower Austrian industry sector, brings together various stakeholders from different industries and think tanks, striving to make Austria fit for the future at the intersection of business and politics.

Wolfgang Lutz, who will assume his role as IIASA Acting Director General on 1 November before Director General-elect John Schellnhuber commences his tenure on 1 December, will participate in the Working Group Meeting. Lutz will provide an overview of the institute's scientific cornerstones and its strong ties with Lower Austria.

The meeting will be moderated by Elfriede Hell, a member of the Federation's Steering Committee.
