The 8th Viennese Vintage Workshop on "Heterogeneous Dynamic Models of Economic and Population Systems" is held in November 2023 at IIASA for the first time in its history.

The workshop concerns optimisation problems with heterogeneous elements.  These elements are used to model features of populations, machines, stocks, and space (amongst others) in more detail compared to standard modelling approaches. The modelling techniques prominently used by researchers at the workshop include, but are not limited to:

  • age-structured optimal control problems,
  • vintage-structured optimal control problems,
  • multistage-stage optimal control models,
  • spatially distributed optimisation problems.

The workshop is well-received in the scientific community and attracts researchers from different institutions across Europe.

A workshop program will be published ahead of the workshop.
