The European Space Agency is organising the 11th International Workshop on Science and Applications of SAR Polarimetry and Polarimetric Interferometry, PolInSAR & Biomass.

PolInSAR 2023 workshop will focus on Radar Remote Sensing methods, validation, and applications (land, ocean, cryosphere, hazards, etc.). Past, current (eg. ALOS-2, Sentinel-1, GF-3, RISAT) and future SAR missions (e.g. BIOMASS, NovaSAR-S, RCM, SAOCOM, NISAR, TerraSAR-L) will be represented. See the objectives of the workshop here.

Biomass 2023 workshop is focused on ESA BIOMASS mission: design and performance, calibration and validation, methods and processing (PolSAR, PolInSAR and Tomographic), in-situ data collection and technologies, applications (forest dynamics, carbon monitoring and modelling, policy initiatives). For more information visit the official website.

IIASA Novel Data Ecosystems for Sustainability (NODES) senior researcher Dmitry Shchepashchenko will contribute to the in-situ forest data collection and processing, which is critical for calibration and validation of satellite data.
