Biography
Youngjin Ko is a postdoctoral researcher in the Agriculture, Forestry, and Ecosystem Services Research Group of the IIASA Biodiversity and Natural Resources Program, working on forest-based climate mitigation and carbon modeling. He holds a PhD in Environmental Science and Ecological Engineering from Korea University. His research focuses on forest dynamics modeling, carbon sequestration, and harvested wood products within integrated forest management systems. He works on national-level carbon accounting, Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) systems, and spatial decision-support tools using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing.Last update: 10 MAR 2026
