Biography
Simon De Stercke joined the TNT program at IIASA in 2012 as a research assistant. He holds bachelor and master's degrees in electromechanical engineering from Ghent University in Belgium, where the bulk of his coursework dealt with mechanical energy technologies. In 2012, he graduated with a Master of Environmental Management degree from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies with a focus on energy-related topics. At IIASA, Mr. De Stercke is carrying out research on historical energy use, and studies long-term energy systems dynamics from an output perspective. He also works on feeding the results into future energy demand scenarios to be used in integrated assessment models.
