Biography

Sara Pruckner joined the IIASA Biodiversity and Natural Resources Program as research scholar and Lead Spatial Data Scientist in February 2025. Her work focuses on developing an integrated geospatial database that harmonizes data and improves data management across the program.

Pruckner holds an Erasmus Mundus master’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Policy, and Management (MESPOM) and a bachelor’s degree in Environment and Bio-Resources Management from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU). Before joining IIASA, she worked as geospatial lead at Watermarq, senior environmental modeler at Risilience, and data scientist at UNEP-WCMC, where she specialized in spatial data analysis and environmental modeling.
