Biography

Reetik Kumar Sahu joined the Water Security Research Group of the IIASA Biodiversity and Natural Resources Program as a researcher in December 2020. His research focuses on the implementation of computational and numerical techniques to problems of hydro-economic modeling including machine learning, stochastic optimization and control, and multi-agent dynamic games. He is currently working on building additional capabilities for the IIASA large-scale hydro-economic modeling framework (ECHO). He is also part of a number of other international projects focused on water security assessment, the food-water-energy nexus, and future water risk reduction.

Sahu obtained his PhD in Computational and Environmental Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA in 2018. Prior to joining IIASA, he was a postdoctoral research scholar at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, USA.
