Biography
Orysia Yashchun joined the Novel Data Ecosystems for Sustainability (NODES) Research Group of the IIASA Advancing Systems Analysis (ASA) Program as a research assistant in September 2022. Her main scientific interests are in spatial data and geoinformation systems for the analysis of land use dynamics and environmental processes; and the geospatial modeling of greenhouse gas emission processes in different sectors of human activity at a regional level and at the level of emission sources. She obtained her BSc degree in applied mathematics from Lviv Polytechnic National University in Ukraine in 2022. The title of her thesis was, Comparative analysis of EDGAR and GEAA geospatial data on greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuel consumption in Argentina. She is currently pursuing an MSc degree in mathematical and computer modeling.
