Biography

Michaela Rossini is the Team Lead Scientometrics & Research Analytics and former Head of Library and Knowledge Resources at IIASA. Driven by a profound passion for history and deep curiosity for the stories that shaped our present, she regards libraries as enchanting spaces and the very heart of every community.

A trained librarian for over 25 years and lifelong devotee to literature and science, she has wandered the hallowed halls of knowledge, from the postcard-pretty university library of Innsbruck to the arcane chambers of specialized research sanctuaries.

Known to retrieve obscure references and all the data Google hasn’t even indexed yet, she is a firm believer that information should be free and knowledge accessible to all, championing the spirit of open science.

Michaela holds a PhD in Classical Archaeology and a MSc in Library and Information Studies. From time to time, she takes to the stage or pen, expounding on how libraries offer far more than mere book storage.
