Biography

Marzena Anna Adamczuk joined IIASA in 2014 as Development Officer in the Office of Sponsored Research (currently Grant Management). In April 2019, she was appointed as the Executive Assistant to the Chief Operations Officer in the IIASA Directorate.

She gained early working experience at the Polish Embassy in Vienna, Austria (2002), the United Nations Office in Vienna (2004), the European Central Bank in Frankfurt am Main, Germany (2006), and the College of Europe in Warsaw, Poland (2007). Between 2008 and 2014, she worked at the American International School in Vienna, first at the Office of External Affairs, and later in Communications and Development.

Adamczuk is a linguist by training (Master's in English Philology 2001, PhD in Translation and Interpreting Theory, University of Vienna 2005). In addition to her studies at the University of Vienna, she studied at the University of Silesia in Poland, the Universidade de Aveiro in Portugal, and the University of Northampton in the UK. She is a certified teacher of English as a foreign language (CELTA) and a certified HR Generalist (WIFI Wien).
