Biography
Marta Kozicka joined the IIASA Integrated Biosphere Futures (IBF) Research Group of the Biodiversity and Natural Resources Program (BNR) as a research scholar in June 2021. She is an agricultural economist working on trade-offs and synergies between multiple objectives of sustainable development with a focus on food security. Kozicka engages in interdisciplinary research to study cross-scale and intertemporal linkages between these objectives within food systems.Before joining IIASA, Kozicka worked as an associate scientist on foresight analysis at the Alliance of Bioversity International and the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), Rome office. Prior to that, she was employed as a senior researcher at the Center for Development Research (ZEF) at the University of Bonn, Germany; as a consultant for the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)'s Trade and Agriculture Directorate; and as a visiting researcher at the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER) in New Delhi, India.
Kozicka obtained her PhD in 2016 from ZEF at the University of Bonn. Her thesis analyzed policies for food security in India and their reform options.
