Biography
Marina Andrijevic joined IIASA as a research scholar in 2021 and is currently jointly associated with the Integrated Assessment and Climate Change and Transformative Institutional and Social Solutions research groups of the Energy, Climate, and Environment Program. Her research focuses on scenarios of future socioeconomic development, and integration of insights from social science with a particular interest in governance and gender equality. She is also actively working on ways to better incorporate adaptation in integrated assessments of climate change and is interested in understanding the future evolution of the adaptive capacity of societies. Her research has been published in high impact journals from the Nature portfolio, Science, and others.Before joining IIASA, she worked as a research analyst at Climate Analytics in Berlin, Germany. She completed her PhD at the Humboldt University in Berlin with her thesis titled, Pathways of adaptive capacity for climate impact research. She also studied at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU) where she completed her MSc degree in Socio-ecological economics and policy.
Andrijevic is also an alumna of the 2020 IIASA Young Scientists Summer Program (YSSP), during which she worked on projections of cooling gaps in Shared Socioeconomic Pathways (SSPs), which has since been published in Environmental Research Letters.
