Biography

Isabella M. Radhuber is a guest research scholar in the Equity and Justice Research Group of the IIASA Population and Just Societies Program, where she advances research on climate and health, qualitative risk assessment, and the complexity of global crises. She is also a senior researcher at the Center for the Study of Contemporary Solidarity (CeSCoS) in the Department of Political Science at the University of Vienna.

Radhuber is a senior researcher specializing in environmental, climate, and health politics from a transdisciplinary perspective. Trained as a political scientist, she investigates the political dimensions of global crises, decolonization, and multidimensional inequalities (with a particular emphasis on climate and health). Her research has been published in leading journals spanning health, environment, climate, geography, political science, science and technology, and global studies.

Her academic trajectory has been shaped by extended research stays in diverse regions, including Latin America, China, India, and the United States. Since 2020, she has initiated and led the Solidarity in Times of a Pandemic Latin America consortium, bringing together more than 100 researchers from 12 countries, while also contributing to its European sister consortium.

She has held research positions at the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) in The Hague, the Department of Geography at the University of Cambridge, and the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (ICTA-UAB). In addition, she has been a guest researcher at the Institute for Technology Assessment and Systems Analysis (ITAS) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and at IIASA.

She holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Vienna.
