Biography
Ipsita Kumar joined the Integrated Biosphere Futures Group of the IIASA Biodiversity and Natural Resources Program in January 2023. She has an interdisciplinary background focusing on the food-energy-water nexus. She works on the Global Biosphere Management Model (GLOBIOM).She has a Masters (MSc) in Economics from TERI School of Advanced studies, Delhi, India, a Masters (MA) in Climate and Society from Columbia University, New York, USA, and a PhD in Geographical Sciences from the University of Maryland, College Park, USA.
She has previously worked at the Columbia Water Center, Columbia University, New York, USA; The Energy and Resources Institute, New Delhi, India; the University of West Indies, Jamaica; the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), New Delhi, India; the International Policy Center for Inclusive Growth, Brasilia, Brazil; and UNWomen, New Delhi, India.
